The N.H. Department of Corrections and State Police are investigating the death of a resident of New Hampshire State Prison who suffered a fatal medical emergency on Wednesday afternoon.
Other residents in the prison notified staff that Beau Mitchell was in crisis, who administered emergency aide until an ambulance arrived. Mitchell died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.
NH State Police, are investigating the un-timely death of Beau Mitchell (age 41), a resident at the New Hampshire State Prison for Men in Concord.
At approximately 3:15 a.m., August 18, 2021, Correctional staff were alerted by residents that Mr. Mitchell appeared to be experiencing a medical emergency, staff responded immediately to Mr. Mitchell. Correctional officers and medical responders called for an ambulance and provided immediate aide until emergency responders arrived. Mr. Mitchell passed away in route to the hospital.
All un-timely deaths are investigated in consultation with the State’s medical examiner and the NH State Police.
Mr. Mitchell was admitted into the New Hampshire State Prison in 2006 for multiple crimes and remained incarcerated for two counts of Aggravated Felonious Sexual Assault with a current maximum release date of February 2, 2043. All charges were out of Grafton County.
